Do You Ever Feel Like You Have Enough Time? Part Deux

First of all, Thanks for all of your comments and private emails about my posts over the last few weeks, it’s great to know that what I am passing on is useful and helpful for others! So, if you are one who is looking to maximize how you joyfully and effectively balance your time everyday, keep reading, AND, if you enjoy it, please share!  I have recently signed on with digg and stumble upon, and would love your help in getting the word out on my posts.  You’ll see the links below! (this is part two of a two-part article.  If you missed the first, you’ll find it directly below this post! ENJOY!) STEP 4: Prioritize, Focus and Get Real Many time management experts will agree that the trick to actually achieving what you set out to do is to ensure that you have a clear understanding of the tasks at hand, that you really know which are those that are the most important and have to be taken on first, and that Uninterrupted Focus is really essential in successfully attaining anything. There are many fantastic resources, books, reports, seminars, etc on this topic, so I won’t reiterate too much here, what I will express that is really important is to not underestimate the power of distraction and interruption when you are trying to accomplish something, and how this can be very detrimental to your level of focus and ability to follow through. Something else to consider is that you will need to Get Real with yourself about what you can actually achieve on any given day – and...

Do You Ever Feel Like You Have Enough Time?

I have been going over the close to 300 responses that I received for my last survey (thank you to everyone!), and interestingly, the number two thing that most of you are feeling stressed about these days is NOT HAVING ENOUGH TIME. (guess what the number one thing was?) It can be easy these days to feel overwhelmed about all that “needs” to happen every day, and the list can be reeeaaaaally loooooong for some!  I’m far from the days where I used to be over-scheduled (thank goodness!), but I still find that it can be easy to get to the end of my work day and not have completed some of the things on my list. As a busy Mum with two little ones who are not yet in school, I need to make sure that I effectively utilize every moment that I have available to me on any given day.  I do have the luxury of having really fantastic and loving childcare for my children three days/week, and the rest of the time that is not devoted to family days, my amazing husband looks after our children while I’m with clients or plonking away on the computer. I remember the biggest challenge I had when I first got back into the business game after having children was the ability to stay balanced with my time.  To not get side-tracked, to stay focused, and to make sure that just about every action I was taking was in the direction of generating income for my business.  Whether or not I have had an office or worked from home, the...
A Weekend in Frank’s World!

A Weekend in Frank’s World!

Okay, so I don’t know how many of you know this, but I made a choice at the beginning of this year to switch the majority of the focus of my practice to providing products and services through the internet. Since 2006, after the birth of my daughter, I really wanted to be able to work from home, with a flexible schedule that accommodated the rhythm of my new family life, and to have the ability to create a long-term sustainable business that would provide the level of freedom I was seeking for all of us. I followed my intuition, and decided to check out what online business opportunities were available and how feasible it was to create a genuine business with the internet.  I did a tremendous amount of research, subscribed to a heap of different email information lists, checked out lots of different sites, followed the links, have consistently paid attention to who is promoting who, who is friends with who and who actually delivers what they say they are going to. It is true that there are many different success stories on the internet and that there are some that are making incredible amounts of money from their product launches.  I have studied how these amazingly successful online entrepreneurs have unrolled their offerings to the world, including the likes of Mike Filsaime, Russell Brunson, Tellman Knudson, Joe Vitale, Kevin Wilke, Mike Koenigs, Jeff Walker, Andy Jenkins, Bob Serling, Eben Pagan and Alex Mandossian, to name a few – and I have definately been inspired and have found great value in what most of these gents are...

What does Commitment MEAN to YOU?

I have been immersing myself whole-heartedly in the next stages of my own personal and professional development, and I wanted to share with you today one of the quotes that has really stuck with me since I heard it about a week ago.  This was from a video tutorial where David Stech is talking about The Power of Six.  The entire video was full of incredible information that would be useful to a variety of business owners in different sectors, and I highly recommend exploring his stuff! The comment in particular that I feel holds special  significance is: “Commitment is the Promise that the Conscious Mind makes to the Soul.” Just think about that for a moment….now we all have our own feelings and memories around the idea of committment, and in all the years that I have been studying and readily engaging in my own learning process, I had never heard the idea of commitment connected to the soul.  It made me think about what I have been choosing to be committed to:  physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually and whether or not this was truly in alignment with my soul’s purpose or my true calling. Now, I am happy to say that the majority of what I engage in is definately in alignment, but there were also definitely some pretty obvious things, people and situations that  were not and are not in balance with my WHY in life!  These situations, whether personal or professional have not been as challenging to release as I thought they may be, and have left me with an incredible feeling of extra energy, lightness and...

Stop Making Excuses!

Here’s an article I wrote for The Salty Fishbowl back in November last year, and I think it is really still relevant to where we sometimes tend to go as humans….enjoy and please do let me know your thoughts below! One of the most common complaints that I hear in a great portion of our society today is this incredible ability to not take responsibility for one’s own life.  People tend to make excuses for anything and everything, rather than just owning up to the fact that they have the capability to create a choice around any given situation. All humans have a tendency to slip into the land of excuses for various reasons, and the great thing is is that this is just a habit, and we all have the opportunity to create change around a habit at any moment.  Where are some of the areas that we do this?  See if any of this sounds familiar to you (it’s okay, nobody is watching you read this!), or perhaps someone you know: – Everything that is wrong in your life is because of your mother/father/partner/kids/lover/friend or teacher. – You decide not to do things because of how someone else may not agree or approve of this thing. – You choose to do something that could be considered unhealthy (use your imagination here) out of pure spite against someone else, really just to aggravate or upset them as much as you possibly can.  OR you do this thing to avoid really facing your reality at all. – You stop yourself from moving forward with something because you are either...
